This study critically analyzed content from five historical dissemination channels on YouTube, examining language, use of sources, methodologies, and ideological discourses. The results reveal diversity in quality and methodological rigor: while some channels, such as Nerdologia História, employ academic references and in-depth contextualization, others prioritize synthesis and entertainment, often without explicit citation of sources. The platform functions as a hybrid space, combining education, science communication, and entertainment, with varied impacts on public perceptions of history. The findings indicate that the democratization of historical knowledge depends on the responsible production of content grounded in reliable sources and transparent methodologies, alongside the development of critical skills among viewers.
