Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/3493Considering that precipitation is one of the meteorological variables that directly interfere on socioeconomic activities, it is essential to investigate its variability at a local and regional scale. This work presents a scientific contribution to the observational studies on spatiotemporal rainfall patterns over the Metropolitan Region of Belém (RMB), encompassing seven municipalities (Belém, Ananindeua, Marituba, Benevides, Santa Bárbara, Santa Isabel and Castanhal). The data measured by the meteorological stations of Belém and Castanhal, from INMET and ANA, respectively, are used, as well as the gridded CHIRPS and MERGE2 data sets (combination of station data and satellite estimates) disposed into high spatial resolution. The databases cover the period from 1990 to 2018. The application of descriptive statistics showed that the annual cycle of precipitation presents seasonality well configured with the Rainy Regime (Reg.CHUV) more intense occurring in the consecutive months from January to April and Dry Regime (Reg.SECO) from July to November. The comparison between the data measured by the stations and the dridded data indicated that the MERGE2 is relatively better than the CHIRPS, mainly for the Reg.CHUV. Among the seven municipalities in the RMB, the Mann-Kendall test showed that only Belém has a statistically significant positive trend in increasing rainfall in the Reg.CHUV. Based on analysis of compositions, the spatial configuration of precipitation anomalies along the RBM was assessed, in association with the El Niño and La Niña events in the Pacific Ocean and the phases of the intertropical Atlantic SST gradient, whose results indicated different impacts along municipalities in the metropolitan region.Acesso AbertoPrecipitaçãoSazonalidadeEl Niño/La NiñaGradiente TSM AtlânticoPrecipitationSeasonalityAtlantic SST GradientCNPQ::CIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRA::GEOCIENCIAS::METEOROLOGIAVariabilidade espaço/temporal dos regimes pluviométricos sazonais na região metropolitana de BelémTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
