The act of teaching has become a great challenge, after all, currently, the multiple functions that are incumbent on this professional can generate periods of excessive stress, which can become a pathological state. As a result, chronic stress is directly associated with the development of Burnout Syndrome. It is known that the teaching profession is one of the most affected by the Syndrome, in this bias, the main consequences of Burnout in teachers can be highlighted: higher absenteeism, decreased teaching quality and weakened relationship with students, in addition to commitment of your personal and social life. Due to both physical and psychological impacts on education professionals, the objective of this study was to analyze the prevalence of Burnout Syndrome among teachers in Brazil. The study was carried out through an integrative review, from which 25 articles were selected in the PubMed, Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences and Scientific Electronic Library Online databases, in Portuguese, English and Spanish in the last 10 years (2011-2020), to analyze the prevalence of Burnout in teachers in Brazil and to identify the sociodemographic and labor profile of teachers affected by the Syndrome. About sociodemographic variables, there was a predominance of women in the teaching environment; the average age of individuals ranged from 32.2 to 50.55 years; and, as to marital status, the vast majority were married or had a stable relationship. Furthermore, the average teaching time ranged from 11 to 25.96 years, while the average weekly hours worked ranged from 28.24 to 45.8 hours. There is great variability in the results obtained, which made the comparative analysis of the prevalence of Burnout difficult in the public in question. Relating sociodemographic and work data with the Syndrome, it is shown that there is a relationship of greater Emotional Exhaustion (EE), Personal Fulfillment (PF) and Guilt in women and greater Depersonalization (DP) and Indolence in men. Furthermore, single professors had higher PF, but higher EE; on the other hand, those who are married or in a stable relationship were less susceptible to the Syndrome. Finally, younger teachers, with a higher workload and who work in the public school system, were more likely to Burnout. Due to the relevance of the Burnout Syndrome in compromising the well-being of teachers and, consequently, of education, more robust studies are essential for a better assessment and correlation of data.
