The aim is to improve understanding of the management of the museum heritage of science and technology, highlighting its relevance in the preservation of human knowledge in various areas. Anexperience report methodology was used, examining the experience of volunteer students from the Museology Course at the Federal University of Pará, engaged in the extension project 'Organization and Management of museological documentation present at the Evandro Chagas Institute Museum'. The results highlight the benefits of using Tainacan, the challenges faced by the team, and the crucial collaboration between the university and museum in student training.
