This research highlights its application in fire safety within the construction industry. A mixed review method was employed, combining qualitative-quantitative analysis and systematic literature review. To conduct the review, 396 publications were initially identified in the Scopus database, and the VOSviewer software was used to investigate source and citation frequency, as well as co-occurrence networks of keywords, co-authorship, and countries, which composed the first analysis. Subsequently, the systematic analysis of the dataset was carried out through graphs that revealed the correlation of published articles with other factors, such as the number of publications by year and country, academic institutions, and co-authorship. As a result, it was possible to identify that the field of “BIM for fire safety” is growing, especially in Asia and North America, and that its application purposes have been expanding. Moreover, there is a promising association of emerging technologies, such as Revit, with BIM for this purpose.
