Acesso em: .https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8536This work consists of a study of the lexicon of the parts of the human body, associated with bodily practices, in the Tembé language, spoken by the TembéTenetehára people, inhabitants of the Alto Rio Guamá Indigenous Land (TIARG), state of Pará. We start from the assumption that the lexicon of a language carries and safeguards historical, cultural and linguistic information about a society, among others. To carry out this study, we used bibliographical research and field research. The bibliographic research is mainly based on authors such as Biderman (1996), Krieger (2006), with regard to the study of the lexicon, Rodrigues (1986; 1993), Boudin (1966; 1978), Carvalho (2001) and Silva (2010) as a source for indigenous linguistics and for the Tembé language specifically; Wagley and Galvão (1961) and Gomes for the Tenetehára historiography, as well as Almeida and Suassuna (2010) and Grando (2024) for reflections on bodily practices. The field research was carried out in Aldeia Sede, with Tembé indigenous language teachers from that village as its main collaborators. Based on this study, a book aimed at children was created with the aim of being used as teaching material in teaching the Tembé language and, thus, contributing to strengthening the lexical and cultural proficiency of the target audience. It is important to highlight that the development of teaching material is a need expressed by teachers of the Tembé indigenous language who are experiencing processes of revitalization of their language and culture. This research aims contribute to the expansion, strengtheninig and maintenance of the language and culture of the Tembé-Tenetehára people, stimulated by their protagonism and desire to remain.
