Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9259In the last thirty years, açaí started to be valued outside the Amazon region, increasing its demand and that in the last decade (2010) it definitely gains market impacting directly the riverside communities of lower Tocantins. Therefore, this work has the general objective of identifying the socio-environmental impacts arising from the production of açaí in the community of Curupitomba, Cametá-PA. For this analysis, we use the time frame from 2010 with data collection on production on the IBGE platform (2022) and fieldwork with experience and interview application to a portion of community residents, also methodologically supported on the concept of landscape, as it makes an integrative analysis of physical, biological and social factors of a certain portion of space. In the municipality of Cametá alone, the increase in production was approximately 75% from 2010 to 2020 (IBGE, 2022). with the acceleration of the erosive process and the silting of the river, one of the causes is the removal of the riparian forest in favor of the management of the açaí groves, in addition to the disappearance of species of animals in the region, change in the way of life of the riverside, being subordinated by the capitalization returning up for urban features. With all this growth brings with it the improvement of the purchasing power of the residents, being able to acquire durable goods, such as a brick house, boat, electronic devices, among others.
