Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9472The application of Six Sigma in organizations has stood out as a pillar for continuous improvement of maintenance processes and reduction of variability in results. In the context of Clinical Engineering, Six Sigma can be applied as a strategic tool to measure and improve the performance of any medical equipment services. In this sense, this monograph aimed to analyze Six Sigma as a strategy for improving Clinical Engineering services through the description of successful cases implemented in the hospital environment. The methodology was based on an integrative literature review, selecting articles on successful cases of Six Sigma implementation in clinical engineering. The results show that Six Sigma brought several benefits to activities involving medical technologies in the five cases, with a significant impact on performance indicators and process improvement. From the analysis of the results, it was possible to perceive that the success of these projects was due to several critical factors that corroborate existing literature, such as the use of the DMAIC methodology and Six Sigma tools, the appropriate selection of projects, team training, the involvement of senior management in the projects, and client participation. Finally, this monograph also highlights the existence of limitations and the main areas for growth of Six Sigma in clinical engineering.
