The 6-minute walk test (6MWT) is considered simple, safe, easy to apply, well tolerated in people diagnosed with PD, and commonly used in clinical evaluations. Objective: The objective of the present study was to evaluate the correlation of the Locomotor Performance Classification (CDL), based on the predicted and walked distance on the 6MWT with the different stages of PD in people diagnosed with PD. Materials and Methods: Participated in this cross-sectional study, physically trained people with Parkinson's disease (PcP), Nordic walking practitioners (n = 30, 11 women and 19 men), in stages between 1 to 4 of the disease, according to the Hoehn & Yahr (H&Y) scale, PcP performed the 6MWT, performed on a flat 30-meter corridor. From the distance walked and the predicted distance equation in the 6MWT, we proposed the classification system called CDL, which categorizes locomotor performance into 3 groups: low A1(<0.85 of predicted distance), moderate A2 (0.86 to 1.20 of predicted distance), and high A3 (>1.20 of predicted distance). As statistical procedures, the clinical characterization data of the sample were analyzed and are presented as means and standard deviation, we used Pearson's percentage of predicted distance correlation to correlate the clinical variables of disease stages (H&Y) with the locomotor performance variables (6MWT walked and CDL). All data were analyzed in SPSS-20, and an α = 0.05 was considered. Results: From the proposed performance classification, 2 participants in severe stage were classified as A1, 19 in moderate stage in A2, and 9 participants in mild stage in A3. The correlation values were: CDL and TC6 (r = 0.681, p = 0.001); H&Y and CDL (r = -0.503, p = 0.034); TC6 and H&Y (r = -0.347, p = 0.158). Conclusion: The CDL showed moderate and significant correlation with the distance walked on the 6MWT and seems to be more sensitive to classify the locomotor performance from the PD stages, since there was no significant correlation between the H&Y and 6MWT. The CDL may be an interesting way in clinical practice for the individualization, prescription and control of locomotor training for people with different stages of PD.Acesso AbertoDistúrbio motorLocomoçãoCapacidade funcionalMotor disorderLocomotionFunctional abilityCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::EDUCACAO FISICACorrelação do desempenho locomotor com os estágios da Doença de Parkinson: uma proposta de avaliação funcionalTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - MonografiaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazil
