Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/10367The increasing generation of waste from electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) demands environmentally appropriate management and disposal mechanisms. In this context, reverse logistics, as provided for in the National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS), requires regulatory instruments that assign responsibilities and guide implementation at different federal levels. This study aimed to assess the regulatory landscape of WEEE reverse logistics in Brazil, with a focus on the Northern Region and a territorial scope in the municipality of Tucuruí-PA. The research, of a descriptive nature with a qualitative and quantitative approach, was developed through a documentary analysis of federal, state, and municipal regulations, based on official sources and complementary databases. The regulations were systematized and analyzed regarding the scope of WEEE, responsibilities, operationalization of reverse logistics, implementation and control instruments, and integration into the federal regulatory framework. Based on the identified gaps, recommendations were proposed aimed at strengthening the reverse logistics of WEEE. In the Northern Region, specific regulations were identified in five of the seven states analyzed: Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Rondônia, and Roraima, while Pará and Tocantins did not present specific regulations identified in the sources consulted. Among the capitals, regulations were identified in Boa Vista, Macapá, Manaus, Palmas, and Porto Velho; Belém presented a bill related to the subject, whereas in Rio Branco no specific regulation was identified in the sources consulted. At the municipal level in Pará, specific regulations were identified only in Nova Ipixuna and Xinguara, with varying levels of structure. The results highlighted normative heterogeneity and gaps mainly related to responsibilities, implementation, and control and oversight mechanisms. It is concluded that, despite the existence of a federal regulatory framework and normative initiatives in the Northern Region, advances in regulation and coordination among different federal levels are necessary to strengthen the reverse logistics of WEEE. In Tucuruí, no specific municipal regulation on WEEE was identified in the sources consulted, highlighting the need for the development of an instrument aligned with the federal regulatory framework and accompanied by implementation and oversight mechanisms.
