The objective is to understand the community's relationship with the changes in the space by investigating the heritage education actions implemented and the perceptions of the vendors regarding the interventions. The methodology includes the analysis of official documents and interviews with market workers to assess the physical, socioeconomic, and cultural impacts of the revitalization. The results indicate that there were no effective strategies to engage the vendors in the preservation of cultural heritage, and none of the interviewees demonstrated knowledge about heritage education. The research concludes that the revitalization took place without effective dialogue with the community, compromising the appreciation of heritage and the collective identity of the site.
