A crucial component in achieving this optimization is the heat exchanger, and among the various configurations available, the shell and tube heat exchanger stands out for its ability to exchange heat between different fluids while keeping them physically separated. The increasingly widespread use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis has revolutionized the understanding and optimization of heat transfer processes, allowing detailed investigations of complex flows. This study focuses on the shell-and-tube heat exchanger, widely employed in industrial applications. To analyze the operational data of the shell-and-tube heat exchanger, a computational simulation (CFD) was conducted using the ANSYS-CFX Student version to assess the thermal exchange performed by the equipment. To ensure a simulation with good accuracy, the mesh, a key parameter for simulation quality, was thoroughly evaluated.
