Brain injuries can be classified as primary, involving direct tissue damage, and secondary, resulting from extracerebral factors that progress and lead to brain cell death. TBI can also be categorized based on severity using the Glasgow Coma Scale, which helps identify the type of injury and guide appropriate care. TBI can leave both physical and neuropsychological sequelae. Objective: To analyze the epidemiological profile of hospital admissions due to traumatic brain injury in the state of Pará between 2013 and 2023. Methodology: This is an exploratory, population-based study using secondary data from individuals admitted to the Unified Health System (SIH/SUS), available on the DataSUS website. Results: The individuals most affected by TBI were mixed-race men between 21 and 40 years of age. In total, there were 4,149 deaths in the state of Pará between 2013 and 2023. The average annual cost of hospital expenses was R$ 98,052,130.83. A seasonal trend was observed in the monthly distribution, with peaks in September and October. The heat map of hospitalization cases highlighted the Xingu region as well as the southeast and southwest territories of the state. Conclusion: Working-age men are the most affected by TBI in Pará. The presence of temporal and spatial autocorrelations indicates a clustering of occurrences in the time and space studied. Investigating regional specificities in the TBI profile across other Brazilian regions and developing countries is essential to provide valuable clinical and epidemiological insights.
