Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/7946This study aims to analyze public transportation coverage in the peripheral neighborhoods of Belém, focusing on the Icoaraci Administrative District. The research adopts a case study approach, combining literature review and field research to identify the main deficiencies in the local public transportation system. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires applied to 62 users of the 17 bus lines serving the area, as well as an analysis of alternative transportation, such as motorcycle taxis and vans. Additionally, the routes of the bus lines were mapped using software such as Google Earth, Moovit, and Citamobi. The results indicate insufficient coverage, especially in more remote neighborhoods like Paracuri and Maracacuera, where irregular schedules and low frequency of lines generate significant dissatisfaction among residents. Consequently, there is a growing dependence on alternative transportation, which, while convenient, does not ensure the same level of safety and accessibility. The study proposes recommendations for redistributing and expanding bus lines, as well as strategies for efficient integration between public transportation and alternative services, aiming to improve mobility and promote greater social inclusion.
