When a mother enters the university space, this task is added to the student obligations, generating a series of extra difficulties in the academic path. This overlapping of responsibilities experienced by academic mothers makes this public a vulnerable public within higher education institutions, generating the need to better understand them in order to better serve them. The present work is a research carried out with university mothers duly enrolled and active in the Pedagogy courses of the Faculty of Education and Human Sciences, of the University Campus of Marajó Breves, of the Universidade Federado Pará. The general objective is to identify the difficulties encountered by university mothers in the Pedagogy course for permanence, success and completion of the degree at the University Campus of Marajó/Breves. The following questions were used as problems: What are the difficulties faced by university mothers in the Pedagogy course for permanence, success² and completion of their studies, in a context marked by a historical tradition of gender differences? We use as theoretical basis authors such as Ana Pereira and Neide Favaro who talk about the history of women in the University education; Elana Pinheiro and Tatiana Tauil who talk about Social Assistance and Public Policies for University Mothers; Regiany Alves and Regina Costa with their studies on Challenges experienced by Mother students. The methodology used, of a qualitative nature, had as a procedure the bibliographic and field research using the semi-structured questionnaire in the online format for data collection. The results analyzed in the light of the content analysis technique showed that the main difficulties of university mothers are related to the overload of activities carried out concomitantly, that is, motherhood, external work and academic activities. There is also, among the data, the scarcity of laws (policies) that support women mothers with regard to the exercise of their right to education.
