Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/6163The paper approaches the methodology of games in the teaching and learning process and understandthe effects of the use of games and manipulateable materials in the teaching of whole numbers in seventh grade classes. The methodology of data collection was subdivided into two moments: gathering information about the learning process in seventh-grade classes and developing an activity proposal to be applied classroom that can assist the teacher in working with the four basic operations of mathematics adding subtraction, multiplication and division. It is understood that didactic interventions with the use of games, present possibilities of the construction of other pedagogical alternatives, lighter, pleasurable, focused on social interaction and instigating curiosity and problematization.
