Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/7895The interpreter of Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS) is the professional who masters the sign language and the language spoken in the country and who is qualified to perform the role of interpreter. In Brazil, the interpreter must master Libras and Portuguese. The objective of the research is to understand what contributions this interpreter makes in the teaching and learning process. The research refers to a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out in May and July of 2023, from the databases: Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo) and Google Scholar, as well as annals of events. The descriptors used were Libras, deaf people, interpreter, teaching and learning and their possible combinations. From a universe of 88 publications, a sampling of 13 works was selected. The results indicate that the interpreter's contributions within the classroom in the context of teaching and learning are essential.
