Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8128The sub-order Heteroptera (Insecta: Hemiptera) is one of the most diverse and important groups of aquatic insects in the world, with about 38,000 species distributed on all continents, except Antarctica. The Gerromorpha Infraordem has about 206 species described in Brazil and is composed of semiaquatic bedbugs with the ability to slide on the surface of the water. In addition, the Gerromorpha stand out for their response to environmental impacts, their role in the recycling and transfer of nutrients in the food chain, their identity as a natural biological control of invasive species and as a possible umbrella species. Therefore, due to the importance of detecting, recording and understanding the distribution and occurrence of this group, this study aimed to present the diversity of semiaquatic bedbugs (Gerromorpha:Heteroptera) from the northeast and southeast of Brazil, where we elaborated a Checklist and pointed out new occurrences of species in the collected sites. We collected in 269 streams, distributed among forest environments, but also in environments modified by anthropic action to perform mining activities, long-cycle agriculture (palm oil plantation) and pasture. There were 13,353 individuals distributed in 109 species, 5 families and 25 genera. The most abundant species was Rhagovelia evidis, with 4085 individuals and the locality with the highest richness was the municipality of Thailand, with a total of 24 species collected. In addition, ten new species of Gerromorpha have also been recorded in the State of Pará: Lathriobatoides brunneus, Microvelia takiyae, Platyvelia brachialis, Rhagovelia equatoria, Rhagovelia mangle, Rhagovelia zecai, Rheumatobates bonariensis, Rheumatobates trinitatis, Veliometra schuhi and Stridulivelia astralis. Thus, this Checklist contributes to future research of ecological analyzes, since it makes available to the scientific community data of distribution of species of Gerromorpha in the State of Pará.
