Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/10358This Monograph investigates the process of elaboration of the Course Work (TC) within the scope of the Degree in Pedagogy of the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), Belém campus, covering students of the 6º, 7º and 8º semesters, who according to the PPC (2010), are qualified to develop this curricular component. This is a relevant topic to be problematized, since the production of the TC involves the systematization of knowledge after a long period of different academic experiences. However, to balance the fulfillment of this requirement, students are faced with several challenges and impasses until its completion, with public defense. In this sense, this research aims to identify and analyze students' perceptions about the TC, its relevance, their personal and academic confrontations so that it assumes an integrative and articulating character with the other components. The methodological approach was given by qualitative research, and data collection occurred through documentary, bibliographic and questionnaire analysis. The theoretical framework was based on the reflections of authors, such as: Freire (1996); Rodrigues (2006); Filho and Martins (2006); Guedes and Guedes (2012); Almeida (2016); Koerner and Fischer (2024); Brazil (2024); Gil, Fagundes and Muniz (2021); Lima (2017); Figueiredo and Bonini (2006), which address the importance of research and academic guidance. The results indicate as main challenges: difficulties in academic writing, normative-technical ignorance, absence of the advisor, lack of institutional support and emotional problems. Overcoming these obstacles requires specific pedagogical actions, such as writing workshops, investment in student support programs and encouraging reading and research.
