Initially, the fundamental concepts of induction motors and the control techniques involved are discussed, contextualizing the plant characteristics and the system modeling. The study focuses on designing and implementing the GPC controller, exploring its performance in terms of eliminating steady-state error, disturbance rejection, and reference tracking. The GPC controller stands out for its flexibility in both single-variable and multi-variable systems, incorporating filters and methods for greater robustness, aiming to optimize the performance of the induction motor under various operating conditions. Comparisons between the performance of the GPC and PI controllers are made through simulations and practical tests, considering criteria such as dynamic response, stability, and robustness. The research concludes with a discussion on the advantages and limitations of each approach, considering their practical applications in industrial control systems.
