Acesso em: .https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8470The play activities come every day gaining more space in school environments and the games are recommended even by the National Curriculum Parameters, as a satisfactory teaching method to work on contents especially difficult for students to understand. This research work had the objective of evaluating in which terms activities developed through didactic games in the Sciences Club of the municipality of Breves contribute to teach Botany contents for 7th grade students. The typology of the research adopted is mixed, that is, it involves both quantitative data and qualitative data. Our research locus was the Science Club of the municipality of Breves, Marajó Island, in the state of Pará. Ten (10) students in the 7th year of elementary school who attended the Club participated in the study in the contraturno of their schools. As a data collection instrument we used a questionnaire of prior knowledge and post- class to evaluate the learning of the Botany contents developed in the Club, in addition the students were asked about the experience of the games in the class. The experience with the work of teaching games to teach science, especially to teach botany was positive in the sense that most of the students were more at ease and motivated in the classes of the Science Club. This was reflected in the results of the research also in relation to the learning of the contents that proved to be more satisfactory with the use of the didactic games.
